The Kentucky Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML), in conjunction with the Kentucky Bar Association (KBA) Family Law Section, presents “Navigating the Personal Goodwill Conundrum” as part of its 25th Annual Family Law Seminar. Join our very own Josh Shilts and Missy DeArk, CPA, CFF, MBA, CVA, MAFF, Litigation Support & Valuation Services Associate Director at Dean Dorton, as they discuss how in the realm of business valuation in family law, conflicts often arise due to varying contextual viewpoints of information and methodologies employed by professionals. Valuing a business accurately is crucial for making informed decisions. However, variations in inputs and their contextual significance result in users of business valuation reports being faced with differing conclusions of value. Further complicating this is the subjective approach to Personal Goodwill and the varying factors and opinions of those factors.
