Message from President Josh Shilts
Happy Fall everyone! As you may have noticed, fall is the time of year that many health insurance providers host their open enrollment period. As you pour though the different plan options and benefits offered, you may have stopped to ask yourself the question, “What is Health Savings Accounts (HSA)?”
A HSA is a type of savings account that allows you to set aside money pretax to pay for qualified medical expenses. Contributions that you make to a Health Savings Account (HSA) are used to pay current or future medical expenses (including after you’ve retired) of the account owner, their spouse, and any qualified dependent. They also offer a triple tax advantage! To learn more, please see this month’s article “Tax Benefits Of Health Savings Accounts” or contact our office with any tax benefit questions you may have related to healthcare.
On another note, please know that our entire Shilts CPA team would like to wish you and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving!
We have so much to be thankful for this year and hope you do as well. May you enjoy good food, family, friends, and fun this holiday. So that our staff may do the same, our offices will be closed on the following days:
Finally, on behalf of myself and our Tax Team here at Shilts CPA, we hope you enjoy this month’s newsletter content!
