Continuing Educational Opportunites
As we enter Fall, I wanted to provide our readers with links to items I feel are pertinent. The first is an article listing the top 5 Consumer Frauds, as reported by the Federal Trade Commission. Fraud and the cost of fraud have been an interest of mine since my early accounting education. The impact that these frauds have on our economy our alarming when the costs are compiled together. This article is a good reminder of the top scams and can help alert you and your clients to be wary of suspicious activities.
Second, I recently wrote an article for the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (“NACVA”) QuickRead discussion Company Specific Risk Criteria and Tests of Reasonableness. The purpose of the article was to aid practitioners providing services in litigation or other adverse settings with tools to increase the confidence of their opinions.
